Introducing CareMyCase: A Better Way to Send and Receive Referrals (Now in Beta)

That’s exactly why we’re building CareMyCase.
What Is CareMyCase?
CareMyCase is a referral platform for attorneys, designed to make it easy (and safe) to:
- Refer out matters that aren’t a fit for your practice
- Receive high-quality cases that match your expertise and jurisdictions
- Stay on the right side of ethics, privacy, and professionalism
We’re currently in BETA, and early access is focused on high-volume states like CA, NY, TX, FL, and IL, with more to follow.
The Problem We’re Solving
From our conversations with attorneys, a few themes keep coming up:
- Referrals are ad hoc.
Email chains, text threads, “Does anyone know someone in…?” social posts—it’s all fragmented. - Ethics feels risky and opaque.
Rules on referral fees, advertising, and cross-jurisdiction practice vary by state and are constantly evolving. - Good cases get wasted.
When you can’t quickly find the right attorney, matters stall—or the client disappears to the internet. - No visibility after you refer.
Once you make the introduction, it’s hard to track what happened, whether the client was well served, or whether the referral fee was ever paid.
We believe attorneys deserve a structured, ethics-forward, privacy-safe way to handle all of this.
How CareMyCase Works (In Plain English)
1. Free Account → Referral Notifications
You start with a free account. During sign-up, you provide:
- Your name and professional email
- Jurisdictions you practice in
- Practice areas
- How often you’d like to receive referral notifications
Once your email is verified and your account is approved, you’ll begin receiving curated referral opportunities to your inbox that match your practice areas and jurisdictions.
No credit card is required to create an account.
2. Posting Cases Is Always Free
If you have a case you want to refer out, you can post it for free, forever.
You can post in two ways:
- Option A — Upload Intake Form
Upload a PNG/JPG/PDF of your intake/summary.
Our system automatically extracts the legal details (case type, location, key facts) and auto-removes client identifiers like names, emails, and phone numbers. - Option B — Enter Manually
Add a title, description (without client identifiers), practice area, and jurisdiction.
We remind attorneys clearly: no client-identifying information should be included until a case is assigned.
Once posted, your case becomes visible (in anonymized form) to approved attorneys who practice in the relevant area and jurisdiction.
3. Interest, Messaging & Assignments
When another attorney is interested in your posted case, they can:
- Express interest
- Send you a private message
- Share their background, questions, and fit
You can compare interested attorneys, chat via private, secure DMs, and when you’re ready, assign the case to the attorney you choose.
At the moment of assignment, you’ll enter the client’s name, email, and phone number—that’s the first time personal data is shared, and only with the receiving attorney.
Free vs. Trial: Where the Paywall Actually Starts
We’re deliberately keeping the core referral flow accessible while we’re in beta.
Free (no trial required):
- Create an account (no credit card)
- Get referral notification emails
- Post cases you want to refer out
- Receive interest from other attorneys
- Compare attorneys and assign your own cases
- Use the AI Ethics Engine to ask ethics questions
Posting and assigning your own case is free forever, not a teaser.
When the 1-Month Free Trial Starts:
You only need to start your 30-day free trial when you want to:
- Show interest in a case someone else posted, or
- Send a message to another attorney about their case
Those are the actions that unlock full marketplace value and justify a subscription.
When you click “Show Interest” or “Send Message” for the first time, you’ll see:
“Start your free trial to contact attorneys.”
You’ll then enter your card via Stripe. Your 30 days are free, and if you don’t cancel, it converts to $49/month. There’s also a planned assignment fee (e.g., $49 per successful assignment) once the platform is more mature—always tied to actual case value, not just clicks.
AI Ethics, Privacy, and Governance Built-In
CareMyCase is not “AI because AI.” It’s AI where ethics actually matter.
AI Ethics Engine
Inside the platform, you can ask ethics-focused questions like:
- “What are the rules on referral fees in California?”
- “Can I accept a referral fee if I had an initial consultation with this client?”
- “What disclosures do I need to make to the client about this referral?”
The AI is backed by a rules database across all 50 states, and we continue to update and refine it with legal-ethics input. It’s a guidance tool, not a substitute for your professional judgment.
Privacy and Security Principles
From day one we’ve designed CareMyCase with:
- Client anonymity before assignment
No names, emails, phone numbers, or other identifiers are exposed until you affirmatively assign a case. - Encrypted, private messaging
Attorney-to-attorney communications happen on a secure, encrypted platform. - Data minimization
We focus on what’s needed to facilitate referrals—not on building marketing profiles or selling data. - Governed AI
AI features are scoped and monitored with clear controls, not bolted on as an afterthought.

We’re intentionally launching CareMyCase as a beta product because we want to build this with—and for—practicing attorneys.
